Bull Vein, Lady Annabella Mine, Eastgate Quarry, Eastgate, Stanhope, County Durham, England, UK
The Bull Vein Pocket Fluorite originates from a geologically intricate vein marked by a northeast-trending strike-slip fault intersecting a limestone cap. This fault features en echelon, carbonate-filled tension gashes, while adjacent limestone blocks show tilting and collapse toward a central fracture zone. Extensive mosaic breccias with sizable cavities surround the fracture core, tapering into smaller, ribbon-shaped structures at the breccia margins. The Bull Vein’s sinuous structure blurs the line between vein and pockets, with Fluorite exhibiting abrupt changes in color and zonation, indicative of the vein’s dynamic mineral deposition history.
