On July15th 2021, Vance tested positive for covid-19. Once we found out Vance was positive Savannah and I got tested, and thankfully we were both tested negative.( Savannah was the only child living with us at this time) So, Vance was quarantined up in our bedroom within 4 days his breathing got worse, his appetite decreased and his pain became more and more excruciating. (It is so hard to watch your love one be in so much pain and not be able to help them) Once the pain became so unbearable we decided to call our PCP and let him know what was going on and see if there was anything he would be able to prescribe to help Vance feel better. Unfortunately, he directed Vance to go straight to the Emergency Room at our local hospital (Lawrence General Hospital). So, in the car we went as we pulled up to the hospital emergency room entrance Vance was very hesitant to get out, but as a good wife should I told him to get out of the car and get in the hospital. All we could do was say goodbye to each other, no hugs, no kisses, because at that moment I was still covid free and had to go home to our daughter who was also covid free. As soon as I pulled away from the hospital Vance calls me and tells me I need to come back and get him because there were too many people waiting and some of them were vomiting and he wasn’t going to stay there. Well lucky for him I refused to turn back and told him to suck it up because I tried everything, we could possibly do at home to help him get better. I Immediately called my mother-in-Law to let her know her son was in the emergency room and if he called her to come an get him that she is to tell him no.
After a couple of hours past Vance texted me and let me know that he was going to be discharged home but he had one more test to complete. They took him to have a chest Xray and the results showed that Vance had a really bad pneumonia on top of having covid. Once the Dr. saw the results, he made the decision that Vance needed to be admitted to a medical unit.
